Al-Qamsiyah (Arabic:القمصية,romanized: al-Qamṣīyah) is a town in northwesternSyria, administratively part of theTartus Governorate, located north ofTartus. Nearby localities includeal-Annazeh,Maten al-Sahel andHusayn al-Baher to the southwest andKhawabi,Khirbet al-Faras andal-Shaykh Badr to the southeast. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), al-Qamsiyah had a population of 2,244 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantlyAlawites.[2]
