Akebäck is a populated area, asocken (not to be confused withparish), on the Swedish island ofGotland.[3] It comprises the same area as theadministrative Akebäck District, established on 1 January 2016.[4]

Geography

Akebäck is situated in the central part of Gotland.[5] It is the smallest of the Gotland sockens.[6] ThemedievalAkebäck Church is located in the socken.[7] As of 2019[update], Akebäck Church belongs to Akebäckparish in Romaklosterspastorat.[8][9]

One of theasteroids in theasteroid belt,11533 Akebäck, isnamed after this place.[10]
