Abdelkrim El Hadrioui (Arabic:عبد الكريم الحضريوي; born 6 March 1972) is aMoroccan former professionalfootballer who played as aleft-back.
Born inTaza, Hadrioui began his career atAS.FAR, helping them win oneleague title. In January 1997, after the sale ofDimas toJuventus,Mário Wilson, who managed AS.FAR a year before, recommend him toBenfica, who subsequently signed him. He made his league debut on 1 March 1997 in a 3–1 loss againstChaves and quickly took the starting role fromPedro Henriques.[2][3] He scored his first and only goal for Benfica on the1997 Taça de Portugal Final lost toBoavista. After the arrival ofScott Minto andGraeme Souness, his influence was greatly reduced, only appearing sporadically throughout hissecond year, but still bagged 20 matches, for a total for 28 appearances for Benfica.[4]
In 1998, he moved toAZ Alkmaar, becoming an undisputed starter, and even attracting attention of other clubs, such asCeltic in August 2000.[5] After four seasons at Alkmaar, El Hadrioui moved to Belgian, playing for two years withCharleroi, retiring in 2005 at the age of 33 years after a one-year spell withIttihad Khemisset.
Internationally, he was a member of theMorocco national team that competed at the1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States and1998 FIFA World Cup in France.[6] He also participated at the1992 Summer Olympics.[7]
