AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 4B is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theARID4Bgene.[5][6]

Function

[edit]

This gene encodes a protein with sequence similarity toretinoblastoma-binding protein-1. The encoded protein is a subunit of thehistone deacetylase-dependentSIN3A transcriptionalcorepressor complex, which functions in diverse cellular processes includingproliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, oncogenesis, andcell fate determination. The gene product is recognized byIgGantibody isolated from abreast cancer patient and appears to be amolecular marker associated with a broad range of human malignancies. Alternate transcriptionalsplice variants encoding differentisoforms have been characterized.[6]
