TheA43 autoroute, also known asl'autoroute alpine andl'autoroute de la Maurienne, is a motorway inFrance. Travelling through theFrench Alps, the road connects the city ofLyon with theTunnel du Fréjus, nearModane, which passes the Italian border towardsTurin. The autoroute opened in phases as it was constructed between 1973 and 1998.
