In the summer 2009 the club playing inPrima Categoria Piedmont and Aosta Valley was renamedPol. Villalvernia Val Borbera after the acquisition of the sports title ofPromozione clubA.S.D. Val Borbera Calcio.
At the end of the2010–11 Eccellenza seasonVillavernia V.B. was promoted fromEccellenza Piedmont and Aosta Valley toSerie D for the first time, after an ascent started inPromozione Piedmont and Aosta Valley in the 2009–10 season.[2][3]
In the summer 2012 the club moved fromVillalvernia toTortona and was so renamedA.P.D. Tortona Villalvernia.[4]
In the season 2012–13 the club was relegated toEccellenza.
The team's colors are yellow and blue.
Home games are played at theFausto Coppi stadium in Tortona.
