Australian TV showA Town Like Alice won best drama, beating outYorkshire Television'sThe Reason of Things andGranada TV'sThe Good Soldier.ABC News PresidentRoone Arledge was honored with a Founders Award for his work on ABC'sWide World of Sports. SirHuw Wheldon, chief executive of theBBC, received the board's Director Award.[2]
