The 1st parallel south forms most ofTanzania's northern border withUganda, and a short section of its border withKenya.

The1st parallel south is acircle of latitude that is 1degree (69.2 miles/111.36 kilometers)south of theEarth'sequatorial plane. It crosses theAtlantic Ocean,Africa, theIndian Ocean,Southeast Asia,Australasia, thePacific Ocean andSouth America.

The parallel defines most of the border betweenUganda andTanzania, and a very short section of the border betweenKenya andTanzania.[1]
