The2025 AU3 Championship is a scheduled Australian racing series forFormula Regional open-wheeler race cars. It will be the inaugural season of theAU3 Championship, organized by the promoter of theAustralian Formula Open series, two-timeAustralian Gold Star winnerTim Macrow.[1] The championship will feature drivers competing in cars that conform to the currentFIAFormula Regional regulations.

Drivers compete to win a fully-funded multi-day test program withHillspeed, aGB3 Championship team.[2]

All drivers will compete with identicalTatuus FT-60 chassis cars powered by eitherToyota orAlfa Romeo engines.[3] The championship will use the cars raced in theFormula Regional Oceania Championship as part of an agreement that sees the chassis shipped from New Zealand to Australia and vice versa after each championship has concluded.[4]

Race calendar

The 2025 calendar was announced on 20 December 2024.[5] The championships' inaugural season is scheduled to consist of five race weekends, with the date and venue of the final round - planned to be held in New Zealand - yet to be revealed.[6][7] The series was originally due to begin on 16–18 May atPhillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, but a delay in shipping the cars from New Zealand meant the round was postponed on May 7, withGoulburn becoming to host the opening round instead.[8]
