The2024NJ/NY Gotham FC season was the team's 15th season as a professionalwomen's soccer team and eleventh participating in theNational Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the top tier ofwomen's soccer in the United States.

As reigning champions, Gotham opened the2024 NWSL season againstSan Diego Wave FC, the previous season'sNWSL Shield winners, in the2024 NWSL Challenge Cup one day before the beginning of the regular season.[1]

Gotham finished the regular season in third place and advanced to theNWSL playoffs, where they defeatedPortland Thorns FC in the quarterfinals before drawing against theWashington Spirit in regulation and losing thepenalty shootout afterextra time in the semifinals.[2]

DefendersSam Hiatt andTierna Davidson joined Gotham in 2024.

By December 2023, Gotham were in negotiations to sign four members of theUnited States women's national soccer team:Tierna Davidson,Crystal Dunn,Rose Lavelle, andEmily Sonnett.[3] Dunn and Davidson were signed the next month,[4] followed by Lavelle and Sonnett days later.[5]
