The2018 VAFA season was the 118th season of theVictorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior communityAustralian rules football competition inVictoria. A total of 70 teams participated across seven divisions under apromotion and relegation system.

Association membership

Prior to the start of the season,Point Cook andOld Eltham Collegians left the VAFA to join theWestern Football Netball League andNorthern Football Netball League respectively.

Name changes

[edit]

Brunswick NOBSPC, which had most recently been renamed fromNOBs/St Pat's in 2015, changed its name toBrunswick Football Club in October 2017.[1][2]

St Kevin's Old Boys won their second Premier Division premiership in a row, defeatingCollegians by 5 points in the Grand Final.[5]

Four members of the St Kevin's premiership side −Lachie Sullivan,Ned Reeves,Tom Jok andEthan Phillips − have since gone on to play in theAustralian Football League (AFL).[6][7]

Old Scotch andSt Bedes/Mentone Tigers were relegated.
