TheSpiteful Crow is an enemy inEarthBound, being one of the many animals underGiygas' influence that attackNess. It it is a smiling black crow wearing a bowtie and sunglasses. During battle, Spiteful Crows are capable of basic physical attacks and stealing items: however, they will also often waste a turn doing nothing.
They are among the first enemies encountered, fought inOnett nearNess'shouse, and later near the cabin in whichPaula is held captive in thePeaceful Rest Valley. They are also encountered byJeff after he leaves theboarding school in NorthernWinters. When revisiting theRainy Circle, the Spiteful Crows (along with theGruff Goats and theRunaway Dogs) are replaced by stronger enemies.
After being defeated, Spiteful Crows become tame and are guaranteed to drop aCookie. However, any items it steals cannot be reacquired. During battle, the "Battle Against a Weak Opponent" track plays in the background.
