TheKraken is a type of enemy inEarthBound. It resembles a large, green snake with red hair and red and orange fire breath. The first one appears during the trip toScaraba as a boss. Later 3 more appear in theSea of Eden. A stronger variant, theBionic Kraken, appears in theCave of the Past.

Krakens appear to be based on actualKrakens, which are usually depicted as a squid or octopus like creature rather than a serpentine one.

EarthBound Player's Guide description

"When your party returns from Fourside, you'll be able to board a ship and set sail for Scaraba. The passage won't be peaceful, though. You'll have to battle Kraken, the sea beast."

Trivia

• In the novelization of EarthBound, the Kraken is a relative of Tessie, which Jeff names "Oshie."
