Healers are a type of helpful NPC inEarthBound Beginnings andEarthBound. They can heal certainstatus ailments, such as beingturned to stone,mushroomized,diamondized,numbness orbeing possessed. While usually they charge money, they will pay$50 to take the mushroom from atop of a character's head. In EarthBound Beginnings, they can also restoreNinten orAna'sPP, and their houses generally contain blackTelephones from which the game can be saved free of charge. In EarthBound, they work for the magic healing shrine.[1]

Memo text implies they were originally intended to reappear in Mother 3, inside theItem Guy's cart. Unused sprites of a man's eyes peering from the tent may have been intended for this purpose; however, it was likely deemed unnecessary due tohot springs restoring status ailments.
