Abbott is a character introduced inEarthBound Beginnings and is the assistant of themayor ofPodunk. He resides behind a desk at the topmost floor of the City Hall throughout the game. On the first visit he informs Ninten that he is not the mayor but his assistant. His only plot-related role is that he givesNinten theZoo Key as a reward for savingPippi from thecemetery. Although he tells Ninten not to lose the key, he will give Ninten another should the player discard the key.

For clarity,the player cannot name a character Abbott.
