GiegueGiygas (Japanese:ギーグGyiyg), also known asGiegue inEarthBound Beginnings, is the main antagonist inEarthBound Beginnings andEarthBound. Giygas is an alien being originally tasked with conquering the Earth and destroying humanity. However, after his initial failure, he returned far more powerful than before and brought the universe to devastation, becoming known as the "Universal Cosmic Destroyer". Due toBuzz Buzz's interference via time travel, Giygas's plans were disrupted, and his growing fear ofNess throughout the game's events leads to the destruction of his mind and body under his own power as he became the "Embodiment of Evil".
