Notes from 04/00 meeting:

There is significant overlap between this issue andissue 178; the proposed wording must bereconciled before either resolution can be adopted.

Proposed resolution (10/00):

Delete the words "The storage for" from the first sentence of6.10.3.2 [basic.start.static] paragraph 1.

[Note: Revised wording in 9.5 [dcl.init]relating to this issue is also foundinissue 178.]

In 6.10.3.2 [basic.start.static] paragraph 1and9.5 [dcl.init]paragraphs 5 and 6, theterms "memory" and "storage" are used in connection withzero-initialization. This is inaccurate; it is the variables that arezero-initialized, not the storage. (An all-zero bit pattern in thestorage may, in fact, not correspond to the representation of zeroconverted to the appropriate type, and it is the latter that is beingdescribed.)

Suggested resolution: remove the words "storage" and "memory" inthese contexts.
