Space is limited, due to the size of the venue, so we ask thatyou register in advance. As at past Workshops, preference will begiven to Committers with a strong record of past contributions, though some space will be made for new Committers who have a strongpotential for ongoing future contributions.
Registration is now open atopenjdk.org/workshop/register.
If you don’t work for Oracle then register as aGeneral Committer. There will be a fee of $100 to covercosts. If no space is available then send us an e-mail andwe’ll let you know if space becomes available.
If you’re affiliated with an academic institution, eitheras a student or an employee, send an e-mail toworkshop-scholarships@openjdk.orgidentifying your academic institution and we’ll send you acoupon code with which you can register for free.
If you do work for Oracle then register as anOracleCommitter; there is no fee. There may be more interestedemployees than space available, so Oracle registrations areprovisional; you’ll be notified about approval. You shouldalso get approval to attend from your manager.

If you wish also to attend the JVM Language Summit, pleaseregisterseparately.
All registrants should review theOracleEvent Code of Conduct.
Oracle follows local health mandates to ensure we can meet inthe safest way possible. As protocols and mandates may change atany time, we will do our best to communicate changes that impactour events. We encourage you toreview the Health andSafety protocols in place for California.
The Workshop will be organized entirely as an unconference. We’ll have plenary sessions as well as some parallelsessions, to allow time for the discussion of specialized topicsthat are not of broad interest.
Sessions will be of two possible lengths, short (20–30minutes) and long (45–60m); we’ll determine the exactlength once we see how many proposals are made.
The very first unconference session will be devoted to decidingthe agenda for the rest of the unconference. Additional sessionproposals may be made at that time.
The unconference sessions will not be recorded.
To help organize things at least a little bit in advance,we’re collecting both proposals for specific sessions andsuggestions of specific topics.
If you’d like to lead a session on a specific topic, please send a message to theworkshop-discusslist with a subject line that starts with “Workshopproposal:”. Include a clearly-marked title, abstract, length(short or long), brief biography (or link to same), and blog andmicroblog links if relevant.
A session may include a prepared presentation, or it may just befree-form discussion, or anything in between—it’s allup to you and those who show up. If you start with a preparedpresentation, though, please make sure to leave ample time forquestions and discussion.
If there’s a topic that you’d like to discuss, orjust hear more about, but you’re not willing lead a sessionon it, then please send a note describing the topic to theworkshop-discusslist with a subject line that starts with “Workshoptopic:”. Give your topic a name, describe it, and be sure toinclude one or more questions that you’d expect sessionparticipants to address. Such expressions of interest couldmotivate other people to propose relevant sessions.
