In naming Andrew P. Mooney president of Walt Disney Consumer ProductsWorldwide, Disney seemed to acknowledge the need for a more cutting-edgeapproach to marketing its branded merchandise. Mr. Mooney, 44 years old, ischief marketing officer and head of global apparel at Nike, whose brand haslargely maintained its cachet over time. Disney merchandise has sufferedunder the growing perception that it has gone stale.
