  1. 'I was a nervous wreck'

England defender Millie Bright: ""Serena [Wiegman] knows what she wants, how to get it and how to get the best out of us. That's the most together we've ever been at a tournament. She gives us confidence, she has experience and she's the loveliest person. She's brilliant."

Fellow defender Rachel Daly: "We won the Euros at Wembley? Can you believe it? I can, because I never doubted this team. I was a nervous wreck the whole time at the end. This place just erupted. Thank you so much everyone."

  2. 'I'm taking in every single second'

England captain Leah Williamson:"I can't stop crying. We talk and we talk and we've finally done it. It's the proudest moment of my life. I'm taking in every single second because I'll want to relive this for a long time.

"The legacy of this tournament is a change in society. We have brought people together, brought people to games. We want people at WSL games. Sorry I'm screaming but I love every single one of you and I'm so proud to be English!"

  4. England players finally leave the pitch!

    BBC Sport at Wembley

It's more than an hour after the game ended and the England players have finally left the pitch - Ellen White the last one to do so.

They had sat there in small groups or just on their own, taking in what an historic achievement it has been.

The presentation platform is being dismantled and the glitter/confetti is being gathered up by the groundsmen.

Wow, what an ending to a brilliant Euros that has broken so many records and changed so many perceptions!

The subs in the 85th minute, her experience. She was doing professionalfouls, winning the ball, calming play down. The last five minutes the ball was barely in play. England swallowed the ball. As a manager, I was super proud and excited to seethat, it showed so much maturity.

So many people have been involved to get women’s football tothis point, to see this trophy. This is what we’ve all been dreaming of. Theamount of investment in the game to get us to this point.

This moment reminds me of the 1999 Women’s World Cup when USAwon that. It changed the face of soccer in America forever. I feel this is a momentin England. This is the moment.

The England squad are still on the pitch and Lucy Bronze and Jill Scott have done a warm-down jog with one of the coaches - with their winners' medals swinging around their necks of course.

Wembley is emptying pretty quickly now but what memories for those who witnessed history in the stadium - and what a huge effect this amazing win will have on the women's game and women's sport in general.

And yes I have got a tear in my eye!

Some of the players have just been making angel shapes in the confetti. Millie Brght and Jill Scott are dancing with a flag and Ellen White has taken a moment to herself in the middle of the pitch to soak it all in. Wow. These scenes are incredible.
