The Maldives National Olympic Committee was founded and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1985. The Maldives first competed at the 1988 Olympic Games, and since then at all Summer Games. The nation has not yet competed at the Olympic Winter Games and has never won an Olympic medal. Having competed only in swimming, athletics, and badminton, Maldivian Olympians have yet to reach past the first round at the Olympics.
