The last significant changes to the Terms of Use were made on16 July 2012. The primary goal of that update was to allowwork on specifications for Java SE JSRs to take place in theOpenJDK Community, right alongside the work on their referenceimplementations, so that the specification leads of such JSRs cansatisfy the transparency requirements ofversion 2.8 of the JavaCommunity Process (JSR 348).
Two other changes in that update were to specify explicitly thatthe default outbound license for all code is GPLv2 (previously itwas unspecified), and to align the rest of the text more closelywith Oracle's standard Terms-of-Use document.
On 22 October 2021, the Terms of Use were updated to revisesection 5(s), on Export Restrictions and Legal Compliance, and torevise the copyright notice.
