SIGWEB - Hypertext, Hypermedia and the Web

SIGWEB Douglas Engelbart Best Paper Award

Presented annually at the ACM SIGWEB Hypertext Conference to promote excellence in hypertext/hypermedia research and in the reporting of research results, and includes a prize of $1,000.

SIGWEB/SIGIR Vannevar Bush Award

The Digital Library conference series offers an annual award for best paper at the DL conference called the ACM Vannevar Bush Award.

SIGWEB Ted Nelson Newcomer Award

For the best student newcomer paper presented at the annual ACM SIGWEB Hypertext Conference. Papers that are rated among the best papers overall and where the first author is registered as a student are eligible for the Nelson Award. The award is named after Theodor H. Nelson, in recognition of his numerous contributions to the field of hypertext and hypermedia over the past 35 years. The award carries a $1,000 cash prize.

SIGWEB DocEng Best Paper Award

Presented annually at the ACM Symposium on Document Engineering (DocEng). Authors of the winning paper will share a $1000 honorarium and each will receive a plaque.

Virtual Conferences: A Guide to Best Practices

In March 2020 ACM formed a Presidential Task Force (PTF) to help conference organizers transition their events to online. The PTF is working on a guide to offer practical advice and shed light on the largely unfamiliar territory of online conferencing.

The report, availablehere, includes pointers to a live document with additional resources. We welcome comments, suggestions and experience reports from the community.
