COLLECTED BY
Organization:Archive Team
Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.

History is littered with hundreds of conflicts over the future of a community, group, location or business that were "resolved" when one of the parties stepped ahead and destroyed what was there. With the original point of contention destroyed, the debates would fall to the wayside. Archive Team believes that by duplicated condemned data, the conversation and debate can continue, as well as the richness and insight gained by keeping the materials. Our projects have ranged in size from a single volunteer downloading the data to a small-but-critical site, to over 100 volunteers stepping forward to acquire terabytes of user-created data to save for future generations.

The main site for Archive Team is atarchiveteam.org and contains up to the date information on various projects, manifestos, plans and walkthroughs.

This collection contains the output of many Archive Team projects, both ongoing and completed. Thanks to the generous providing of disk space by the Internet Archive, multi-terabyte datasets can be made available, as well as in use by theWayback Machine, providing a path back to lost websites and work.

Our collection has grown to the point of having sub-collections for the type of data we acquire. If you are seeking to browse the contents of these collections, the Wayback Machine is the best first stop. Otherwise, you are free to dig into the stacks to see what you may find.

The Archive Team Panic Downloads are full pulldowns of currently extant websites, meant to serve as emergency backups for needed sites that are in danger of closing, or which will be missed dearly if suddenly lost due to hard drive crashes or server failures.

Carabao Cup: Oldham Athletic 0-0 Accrington Stanley (5-4 pens)

Oldham Athletic fans protest
Oldham fans protested at Boundary Park by throwing tennis balls and flares onto the pitch

Oldham Athletic beat Accrington Stanley 5-4 on penalties to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup amid protests from home supporters at Boundary Park.

The match was temporarily halted after three minutes as a group of home fans, unhappy with the club's owners, threw tennis balls and flares onto the pitch.

Goalkeeper Laurie Walker proved the Latics' hero, saving spot-kicks from both Dion Charles and Matt Butcher.

Oldham had previously beaten Tranmere Rovers on penalties in the first round.

A number of home fans invaded the pitch when the Latics' win was confirmed, mirroring scenes from Saturday's league defeat by Colchester that left Oldham bottom of League Two.

The best chances for either side to break the deadlock came in the second half as Hallam Hope sent a header over the bar for the home side, before Walker saved Charles' long-range shot 10 minutes later to deny the visitors.

Oldham Athletic boss Keith Curle told BBC Radio Manchester:

[On fan protests] "We don't change our mindset, we are here to play football. I don't want to get involved in the feelings of anger and disappointment. I can't change that.

"I've had a few supporters message us and wishing us well and that is what we're about.

"Every supporter will want their bit of facetime with the owners and that's understandable."

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman:

"Fair play to Oldham, they took some good penalties but these situations are a lottery. If Toby (Savin) has come off his line for their last penalty then fair play, but you just never see that.

"It's the first time I've ever seen that decision. The referee said Toby was two yards off his line, but it's pointless blaming anybody but ourselves.

"Our performance was way below par - you wouldn't have known that we were fourth in League One and they were bottom of League Two.

"The lads who came in just didn't grab the shirt, though. And our lack of fitness was very evident.

"We're six games into the season and the players were going down like ninepins near the end."

How do owners like Oldham's pass the tests. Absolutely ruining football.

Trying to run the club into the ground so they can probably sell the land off to developers, it's in a pretty good spot so would be worth an absolute fortune, the last clown in charge sold loads of their land off.

Spurs fan - find it thoroughly disheartening that a club like Oldham can possibly go to the wall over a sum of money that premier league players "earn" in a fortnight. Hope you survive, although I'm not in a hurry to visit Boundary Park again!

very measured comments by Curle, but it's clear he's frustrated. hate to see these excellent clubs getting driven down by unfit owners

I wonder if the owner is still interferring with team selection etc as he was when Paul Scholes a life long Oldham fan by all accounts, who quite rightly walked out because of it, was the manager. If he is no wonder Curle is frustrated

Brighton fan here. We went through the same thing in the mid 90s and it took 2 years of protests to get our corrupt owner and his sidekicks out of the club who sold the ground with nowhere else to play just to try and let the club go under and take the profits. We came up with all sorts of protests and got a game abandoned. We did whatever it took to save our club. Do the same.

If the current owner hadn't come along, Oldham would have gone the way of Bury. The fans should be careful what they wish for. Why didn't they do anything at the time he was taking over, like Rochdale have done?

Clubs in the lower reaches should look at a part time model to reduce costs and reintroduction of a north and south league would also reduce costs for both clubs and fans alike. When a business is not viable it needs to reaccess or fold a bit like bury. You cannot look at footy clubs through rose tinted spectacles if they are not financially viable like any other business they should close

Unlucky Accrington, Oldham should be kicked out of the comp, their fans are a disgrace.

And why is that? because the club is being run by a "morrocan millionaire"? whose brother is running the club, choosing the teams, selling players on a free? tell me sir/madam..... if this was your club how would you react? the fans have been shouting this for a couple of years and not been heard. now they have!
