CORONAVIRUS UPDATE :
We are pleased to announce that, subject to review, we are re-opening the Station Bar, from 15th April.
We will be offering Table Service only, on the platform, from 16.00 until 22.00 on Thursday and Friday and
from 12.00 until 23.00 on Saturday and Sunday.
Also, our Events Planning Team are working on a new & exciting program of Events, for 2021, once we are allowed to open fully.
Please support Rushden Historical Transport Society with a donation.
Along with most Heritage Railways, we have no income, but still have outgoings to cover.
Please spare the cost of a Cup of Coffee, or a Pint of Real Ale, to help us to be able to re-open as soon as possible.
If you do not want to use PayPal, please send a cheque payable to ‘R.H.T.S’ to RHTS, Station Approach, Rushden, Northants, NN10 0AW
RAILWAY
RHTS has a wide range of rolling stock, and runs selected stock on open days. With over half a mile of track, there is scope for variety. We are currently renovating some of our rolling stock, and undertaking all routine safety checks.
GOODS SHED
In addition to the Station buildings, and track, the Society owns the Goods Shed & Yard. This provides a large undercover area, whilst preserving the heritage of the area. We will be using both the inside area & the area around the building for many of our forthcoming Events.
MUSEUM
Rushden Transport Museum is situated in the Old Midland Railway Station of 1894 which once formed part of the Wellingborough to Higham Ferrers branch line. It houses a wide array of exhibits, related to the area. School Trips can be arranged, with museum staff on hand.
SOCIAL
Taken over by the Rushden Historical Transport Society in 1984 the station also provides the society with a social club. Members & Guests can enjoy a wide selection of Real Ales, and other drinks, daily, in a friendly atmosphere. The bar is often open to all visitors, on Event days. We are alsoNorthamptonshire’s CAMRA Club of the Year 2018
Also, members receive periodical issues of “Olde Wheels”, a magazine full of information about the Society. ClickHERE to view a sample.
BUFFET COACH
RHTS has a Gresley Buffet Coach, that provides a range of Hot & Cold Food, on most open days. Afternoon Tea is a real pleasure to enjoy. The Carriage is also available for hire for private functions etc.
SHOP
At the end of the Platform, we have a Gift Shop selling a range of souvenirs for all ages. This shop is open on most Open Days, but can be opened for other visits, on request.
