TheSAM4E Xplained Pro evaluation kit uses an ATSAM4E16E (Cortex^®-M4 based) microcontroller. It has three expansion headers (extension boards sold separately) and one connector for mounting an LCD display extension board. It also has a user pushbutton and LED, and an RJ45 connector for 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.

This board has an on-board programmer/debugger. No external programmer/debugger (e.g.,SAM-ICE™) is required.
