SAME5x MCU Family Reference

This page connects you with all the information you need to evaluate and design with Microchip's 32-bit SAM E5 family of microcontrollers.

Family Overview

SAME5xTheSAM E5x series (Cortex®-M4 RISC processor with Floating Point Unit) has up to 1 MB of dual panel flash with ECC, and up to 256 KB of SRAM with ECC. It also adds a 10/100 Ethernet MAC and 2 CAN-FD ports and has five low power modes with a class-leading 65 µA/MHz active power consumption.
This series is loaded with peripherals. It has a Quad Serial Peripheral Interface (QSPI) with Execute in Place (XIP) support, up to two Secure Digital Host Controller (SDHC) for eMMC/SDIO/SD, up to eight Serial communication (SERCOM) ports configurable as UART/USART, ISO 7816, SPI or I2C, Full-Speed USB with embedded Host/Device, dual 12-bit 1 MSPS ADC with up to 32 channels; Dual 12-bit 1 MSPS DAC, and hardware capacitive touch support withQTouch® Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC) supporting up to 256 channels. It also has integrated security features including AES hardware encryption engines, a true random number generator (TRNG) and SHA-based memory integrity checker.
