Set Up Trace with MPLAB® X IDE
Once trace hardware is set up, set up MPLAB® X IDE to use trace by performing the following steps.

Open Project Properties
Right click on the project name and selectProperties to open theProject Properties window.

Select Real ICE
Click onReal ICE under Categories.

Enter Clock Data
From the Option categories drop-down, selectClock. Specify the Target run-time instruction speed and Instruction speed units.

Select Instruction Trace
From the Option categories drop-down, selectTrace and Profiling. Then under the Data Collection Selection drop-down, chooseInstruction Trace/Profiling.

Set Up Instruction Trace
Set up any other trace-related options.
