The Apollo Lunar SurfaceJournal is a record of the lunar surface operations conducted by thesix pairs of astronauts who landed on the Moon from 1969 through 1972.The Journal is intended as a resource for anyone wanting to know whathappened during the missions and why. It includes a correctedtranscript of all recorded conversations between the lunar surfacecrews and Houston. The Journal also contains extensive, interwovencommentary by the Editor and by ten of the twelve moonwalkingastronauts.

• This December 2017 release of the Journal contains all of the text for the six successful landing missions as well as many photos, maps, equipment drawings, background documents, voice tracks, and video clips which, we hope, will help make the lunar experience more accessible and understandable.

• The Journal is, in Neil Armstrong's words, a "living document" and is constantly being modified and updated. Please don't hesitate to let us know about errors. We want to get it right, but sometimes that can take a while. We would like to thank everyone for their help and patience.
