About us
In 1919 Henry Lee, a bicycle salesman from London, moved to Graveley in Huntingdonshire, bought an American ambulance and made it into the first Whippet coach. After three generations of family ownership the company was purchased by the Tower Transit Group in November 2014. In October 2018 Whippet Coaches became part of the Ascendal Group –www.ascendalgroup.com
Whippet Coaches takes great pride in operating buses and coaches. Our aim is to operate reliable, reasonably priced services driven by friendly drivers. We run local buses (including some along the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, the longest in the world) and National Express services between Cambridge / East Anglia and London Victoria, Heathrow and Gatwick.
We are interested in partnership working with local authorities, businesses and education establishments to deliver public transport options that help reduce congestion, improve social inclusion and take some of the stress out of the daily commute.
