Batuu was once a thriving stop for traders and travelers before advancements in lightspeed technology. Now its lush forests and majestic mountain regions are known only to those who dare to venture this far into the Outer Rim. At the infamous Black Spire Outpost, smugglers and rogues peddle their wares among the towering remains of petrified trees while the locals cook up exotic dishes and spin tales of ancient settlers long forgotten. Recently, the struggle between the First Order and the Resistance has made its way to this remote locale, once a haven for those hoping to avoid entanglements with the First Order.

The largest settlement on the planet Batuu, Black Spire Outpost is an infamous stop for traders, adventurers, and smugglers traveling around the Outer Rim and Wild Space. Off the beaten path, this outpost has become a haven for the galaxy’s most colorful — and notorious — characters. Widely known for the petrified remains of its once towering ancient trees, the spires now stand guard across the river valleys and plains and have long captured the imagination of travelers to this planet. To the first settlers, these petrified spires became more than just landmarks; they became the heart of the outpost itself.

For those in the know, Dok-Ondar is the Ithorian one seeks for selling and buying rare and uniquely-valued items from across the galaxy. As one of the oldest establishments on Black Spire Outpost, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities has earned the reputation for amassing an impressive collection of valuable items spanning across all eras.

The elusive local crime boss of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, few have seen Oga in the flesh and have lived to tell the tale. She has earned an infamous, almost mythical reputation among smugglers, criminals, and prominent figures of the underworld. Even the mere mention of her name sets the locals on edge. Many local Batuuans wonder whether she’ll finally make an appearance now that the First Order has arrived on Black Spire Outpost, but she remains hidden, preferring to run her cantina and the outpost in the shadows.

Oga’s Cantina is a notorious local watering hole in Black Spire Outpost known for its shady clientele of bounty hunters, smugglers, and off-worlders sampling unique concoctions, conducting shady business, and encountering friends and foes. Run by the local crime boss, Oga Garra, the cantina adheres to a strict code of conduct that tries to keep its unruly patrons in check. With a history of being a smugglers’ safe haven and a popular stopping point for those seeking to avoid the authorities, Oga’s Cantina has a story or two to tell. Musical entertainment is provided courtesy of former pilot droid RX-24, who has been reprogrammed and renamed to DJ R-3X.

Rex, a former pilot of a Starspeeder 3000 for Star Tours, was recently reprogrammed to be a DJ in Oga’s Cantina. Today, he can be found playing the latest hits from around the galaxy in the heart of Black Spire Outpost. As quirky and talkative as ever, he’s still trying to do his best on the job.

Former head chef at Maz’s castle on Takodana, Strono Tuggs is a disfigured Artiodac known as Cookie. Tuggs served in the castle kitchens for centuries, but since the First Order attack, he has left to pursue his lifelong dream of running his own food transport – Tuggs' Grub. He travels across the galaxy to collect exotic ingredients for his unique and delectable offerings.

Strono "Cookie" Tuggs is in much demand for his culinary skills, so he travels from site to site in a modified Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport that becomes a mobile kitchen and restaurant. His travels across the galaxy allow him to fill his pantry with exotic ingredients that he uses to make new and unusual dishes. The transport is a versatile carrier vessel, with a modular cargo cradle that can support several self-contained modules with built-in life support systems. He is proud to present Tuggs’ Grub, a “traveling diner for diners traveling,” inspired by dishes he created during his time on Takodana.

Vi is a female spy who serves in the Resistance. Some time prior to the First Order’s attack on Hosnian Prime, she was captured and interrogated for information regarding the past of Captain Phasma by Phasma’s rival, Cardinal, in exchange for her release. Recognizing her talent, General Organa sent Vi and other spies to scout for a new Resistance command location. Vi traveled to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, where she managed to secure a safe location for the Resistance to rendezvous.

Hondo’s freighter, the Katooni, is a modified ZH-40 Tribune-class light freighter manufactured by Starfeld Industries. A relative of the older model ZH-25 Questor-class, the ZH-40 Tribune-class is equipped with quad Novaldex JV-74 engines, two paired laser cannons on the starboard size, a fixed heavy laser cannon on the port side, and four fixed laser cannons on the cargo pods (two on each tip) that can be fire-linked to quad-fire. The freighter can be flown by a single pilot, but has recommended crew stations for a total of four. Other features include a Corellian-style turret on its dorsal side, two pod-like arms that contain cargo grippers, and the capability to hold up to 85 metric tons of cargo in the mail hull. Hondo doesn't talk about where he got the freighter, but on those instances that he does, the story always changes. He does appear to have some fondness for it, some might say sentimentality.

Despite her humble origins and shabby exterior, the Millennium Falcon has played a role in some of the greatest victories of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic. The Falcon looks like a worn-out junker, but beneath her hull she’s full of surprises. A succession of owners, including Lando Calrissian and Han Solo, have made special modifications that boosted the freighter’s speed, shielding and firepower to impressive – and downright illegal – levels. The price of such tinkering? The Falcon can be unpredictable, with her hyperdrive particularly balky. Despite her flaws, she’s beloved by her owners – Han Solo and Chewbacca spent years searching the galaxy for the ship they once called home, rejoicing when they finally reclaimed her.

A TIE assault shuttle manufactured by Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems as part of the TIE series, this shuttle is used mainly for small troop and cargo transport. Equipped with twin clusters of three ion engines on each side, heavy laser cannons, a shield generator, and advanced sensors to monitor and scan enemy communications to effectively avoid hostile encounters, the shuttle accommodates up to twelve crew members as well as additional cargo. In addition to a turret in the cockpit, the TIE echelon also has the ability to fully customize its armaments as needed.
