I want to thank again an absolutely amazing team of volunteers and supporters who walked hand-in-hand with us over these last 20 months that we fought for a brighter future in Newark. Many thousands of people over this period gave of their time, heart, and treasure for our movement for change. I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and well wishes last night and this morning, and I want to thank each of you for reaching out. Over 20,000 Newarkers endorsed our movement, and I am deeply honored to have received such broad-based support for our campaign.

But as I said last night, the work continues. It is now time that all Newarkers come together for the betterment of our city, which faces deep crises around safety, our budget, economic development, and our schools. I wish Mayor-elect Baraka and his team well, and my team, and the 20,000 strong who stand with us, are available, as we always have been, to be a part of the solution to take our city to new heights.
