These crawls are part of an effort to archive pages as they are created and archive the pages that they refer to. That way, as the pages that are referenced are changed or taken from the web, a link to the version that was live when the page was written will be preserved.

Then the Internet Archive hopes that references to these archived pages will be put in place of a link that would be otherwise be broken, or a companion link to allow people to see what was originally intended by a page's authors.

The goal is tofix all broken links on the web. Crawls of supported "No More 404" sites.
This is a collection of web page captures from links added to, or changed on, Wikipedia pages. The idea is to bring a reliability to Wikipedia outlinks so that if the pages referenced by Wikipedia articles are changed, or go away, a reader can permanently find what was originally referred to.

This is part of the Internet Archive's attempt torid the web of broken links.

Ford tops
new-car
sales
again
The belated announcement
of Australia's 1985 new-car sales
figures has produced the usual crop
of winners and losers.
Most car companies will find
something to crow about in the
advertisements over coming weeks,
no matter how modest their success,
but the ones making the most noise
..will be those who have done best.
..... And in 1985, according to official
■ industry statistics from idaps, the
company with most to crow about,
."again, is Ford. .
; \z The blue-and-whites topped the
I ^Australian sales charts comfortably,
-■ "with a total of 170,811 vehicles sold
i 'in 1985, giving Ford a solid 24.55
" "per cent of the total market of
695,856.
It also dominated most of the
important market sectors in the
new-car sales battle, with the Laser
Meteor twins the top-selling small
car, the Falcon continuing as overall
top seller and best family car, and
the Fairlane comfortably the best
selling luxury car in Australia.
Toyota was another winner, tak
ing first place in the commercial
■•market by an easy margin, and
•runner-up to Ford in the overall
■ tally at GM-H's expense.
Toyota's 1985 total was 134,306
vehicles, for 19.30 per ccnt of the
market, compared with 128,443 and
-18.46 for GM-H.
Best newcomer, and best in the
medium sector, was Mitsubishi's
Magna and its success boosted the
.company to fourth place in the sales
•charts with 79,974 vehicles and
11.49 per cent of the market.
.... Nissan was the biggest loser of the
year, finishing 1985 with only 9.39
• per cent of the market and total sales
of 65,320 vehicles.
After the five local manufacturers,
Mazda held its spot as best of the
importers with 38,941 vehicles and
5.60 per cent of the market, ahead
of Subaru, Suzuki, Honda and
Daihatsu in that order.
: Australia's 10 best sellers in 1985
.were:
,, I. Ford Falcon, 76,818
2. Holden Comoodore, 62,436
3. Ford Laser-Meteor, 35,479
„ 4. Toyota Corolla, 28,269
