Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande will on Tuesday 14 April 2015 officially launch a new University to be known as Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University which will merge with the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa) campus in Ga-Rankuwa.
Sefako Makgato Health Sciences University opened its doors in January 2015 after it was uncoupled from the University of Limpopo. This new university will continue to train medical and allied health sciences professionals but will also introduce new academic offerings ranging from biomedical technology to bioengineering.
