Cycling

Banner-Landing-Visiting-Page.jpg

Cycling is a gentle way of improving your health and well-being, and riding on our traffic free cycling trails with gentle gradients surrounded by beautiful countryside is much more fun than pounding the treadmill at your local gym.

Hire a cycle from our hire centres nearAshbourne town centre,Parsley Hay on the A515 Ashbourne to Buxton road andDerwent right next door to our Fairholmes visitor centre at Derwent.

A range ofbikes are available to hire and include mobility scooters, electric bikes, tricycles, hand-cranked and wheelchair bikes at some centres. Why not hire a tandem and share the load?

You can also have your bike maintained by a fully qualified technician. No job too small or too big. Contact any centre for details and current prices.

All cycle hire centres are near to popular bus routes so why notleave the car at home and make a real traffic-free day of it?

The Peak District is home to fabulous off-road cycling routes including Tissington and High Peak Trails which meet at Parsley Hay and the quieter Manifold Track in the south-western Peak running from Waterhouses along the old Leek and Manifold light railway line.

Sign up to our motivational support programmewww.pedalpeakdistrict.co.uk, with prizes on offer to encourage you to meet your cycling targets. You can even see how many calories you have burned off!
