Eliza attended Boston Univeristy, Boston to achieve an honors degree in Philosophy. She then had some success with writing for a theatre company in Boston and took her M.F.A. (Playwrighting) at Brandeis University, U.S.A.
Eliza went on to achieve prestigious American awards for her writing, Massachusetts Playwrighting Fellowship, Playwrights-As-Thinkers,Mid-West Playwrights Conference, Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference and was a finalist in the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. In 2002, she won the Moondance Film Festival first place in children stage plays for ALICE LEAVES THE GARDEN, and for her Radio Play the Columbine award. She won **** from the from The List at Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival and ***** twice from edfringe.com. January 2006 she picked up BEST PLAYWRIGHT from FringeReport.com.
Eliza has always maintained a high profile in Community Arts. In Bostonshe worked with Roxbury Outreach Shakespeare Experience, bringing Shakespeare to schools. She has facilitated and led a number of playwrighting workshops, and co-founded Playwrights' Platform an ongoing group in Boston. She has been a Green Party Candidate and is politically active.
