Safety for our schools This message comes to everyone with a heavy heart as we recognize the unthinkable tragedy on Friday, December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut. Please know that each school's crisis team met and have reviewed and will continue to review the safety and emergency plans in each building. The principals will review these plans with the local officials as well. The mission for all is to have a safe, nurturing and trusting environment for our students, staff, administration and residents. Therefore, we will continue to train, reinforce and model our safety plans for everyone in the school buildings. The schools will continue to have the crisis teams available in each building to provide additional supports for our staff and children, as needed. Please review the links placed at the Superintendent's Corner portion of the website (listed under "offices"). These links provide resources in talking about tragedy and violence with your families. Please feel free to contact any administrator in the event you have any questions and/or concerns. Sincerely, Nadine G. Ekstrom Superintendent of Schools | ||
