You can't accuse Beck of forgetting his past.

At the Greek Theatre on Friday, the flaxen-haired art-rocker paused to remember his penniless early years. Asking various segments of the packed venue to chant along with him at one point, he addressed those without tickets who were presumably hidden in the grassy hills that ring the Griffith Park amphitheater.

``When I didn't have money to buy a ticket to the Greek, which was most of my life, I was rockin' it from the bushes,'' Beck said to cheers.
