Duke University Union was founded in 1954 with the purpose of promoting the social, recreational, cultural, and educational activities of and for the students.
Today, the student-led Duke University Union (DUU) provides a diverse range of cultural, intellectual, educational, recreational, and social programming to complement the academic experience of Duke University students and to provide enrichment for the University faculty, staff, and employees and the surround community. In cooperation with the staff of the Office of Student Activities (OSAF), DUU serves as a leadership training ground for its officers, chairs, and committee members. Through experimental learning, they develop knowledge and appreciation of professionalism and the fundamental management of effective motivation, organization, and communication.
