Major Objectives: The major objectives of the St. Petersburg Music House are as follows:- Higher Performance Courses project, a comprehensive concert training program for Russian musical performers in St. Petersburg in preparation for international competitions and festivals;
- All-Russian Selection project to discover talented youth in music.
First Season, 2006-2007: St. Petersburg Music House is a federal state establishment created in February 2006 to help centralize the efforts of the state in supporting talented young musicians at the start of their career and to attract the attention of Russian listening audiences to promising, bright and talented musicians.During the first concert season from July 22, 2006 to June 8, 2007, the St. Petersburg Music House became an all-Russian training base for Russian participants at various international music competitions. Every month six or seven young performers showed their mastery at symphonic and chamber performances in the Young Russian Performers series, hosted by the best St. Petersburg concert venues. The program of each performance contained competition entries. Such dress rehearsals allowed Russian musicians to perform successfully during the most discerning international events. Another important event was The Russian National Music Team, a 9 concert cycle in April-May 2007, which brought together Russian participants of the 13th Tchaikovsky International Competition. Ten performers with chamber and symphonic programs were welcomed at the St. Petersburg event by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Sokolov. An extensive and productive discussion was held at the All-Russian Round Table on Wind Performance, bringing together for the first time not only teachers of music from various Russian regions, but leading concert performers and managers of Russia. Following the discussion, the participants of the round table wrote a letter to the Russian Ministry of Culture with proposals to resolve concrete problem areas and goals and priority directions for development of the Russian wind performance school. Inviting the best teachers who represent the Russian performance school, and all-Russian selection for participation in their workshops, financed by the state and through charity, create all the necessary conditions for the professional growth of many young musicians in various Russian regions. In June 2007, the St. Petersburg Music House began a large scale River of Talent Tour for young performers from 20 Russian conservatories, hosted by the Philharmonic Societies of the Privolzhsky Federal District. A joint project with the Moscow Academic Philharmonic Society, Stars of the 21st Century, a program package for both capitals, can serve an example of creating a joint music space for talented young Russian musicians. Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1717-p dd. 18/10/2005: WHEREAS the Federal State Cultural Establishment St. Petersburg Music House (hereinafter referred to as the Establishment) has been created under the auspices of the Russian State Committee for Cultural Affairs, NOW THEREFORE: 1.
