Originally from Ohio, he came to Baton Rouge to get his Master's Degree in Engineering at LSU. Nate was an alumni of LSU Rugby. With LSU, he played for two years (2004 and 2005). He also played with Baton Rouge Rugby for three years (2005 to 2008) as a loose head prop and occasional flanker. Nathan got his nickname at LSU for his amazing gift of beard growing and his uncanny resemblance to Chuck Norris. He was a tough rugger known for hard tackling and rucking, and he very rarely passed the ball like any good forward. Nathan was a great friend and teammate with a heart of gold. He will truly be missed. He is a true American hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice.The Nathan Carse Memorial Scholarship will be a yearly award to honor Nathan's sacrifice for our freedom.

For the Baton Rouge Rugby Club and friends of the club, we will be putting together a memorial party to honor Nathan. At the party, we will be taking donations to send to the memorial fund as well. Details are being worked out at this time. Nathan's family is currently working on the funeral arrangements. Details are forthcoming. Thank you for all your help honoring Nathan, a true American hero. He will always be our rugby brother.
