RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an easy way for you to be alerted when content that interests you appears on your favorite websites. Instead of visiting a website to browse for new articles and features, RSS automatically notifies you when something new is posted online through your news reader.

SMS (text messaging)

PTWC bulletins are available via SMS on mobile phones for some emergency managers in Pacific, Asian, and African countries. Please see the RANET Project website:
http://www.ranetasiapac.org

There are also various RSS-to-SMS services on the Internet that allow one to receive SMS alerts when RSS feeds are updated (for example: Yahoo! Alerts, ZapTXT, Rasasa, FeedBeep).

Another option is theUSGS Earthquake Notification Service (ENS), which allows you to receive custom automated earthquake alerts via email or SMS.
