Yes For Wales

Plaid Cymru says YES!  Vote Yes on March 3rd!

Plaid Cymru is campaigning for a yes vote in the referendum on March 3rd because our raison d'être as a party is based on our belief in the Welsh nation's sovereignty. After all, this was one of the main reasons for establishing Plaid Cymru in 1925.

Since the people of Wales voted in favour of the Assembly in 1997, the Welsh political landscape has been transformed. That said, the current system has hampered the ability of Assembly Members to focus on those things that really matter. Too much time, money and resources have been wasted because of the inefficient LCO system. There are several examples of Measures that enjoy cross party support which have taken years to come to fruition e.g. the Housing Measure and the Water Sprinklers' Measure.

This means that the system as it is does not deliver for the benefit of Wales's citizens. In addition, we believe that laws which only affect Wales should be made in Wales. It's disgraceful that representatives in another body can opine on laws which are the responsibility of Wales's elected Assembly!

Our aim as a party is to create the conditions which lead to a confident and prosperous Wales taking its place amongst the international family of nations.
