Yahoo! GeoCities is a Web hosting service. GeoCities was originally founded by David Bohnett and John Rezner in late 1994 as Beverly Hills Internet (BHI), and by 1999 GeoCities was the third-most visited Web site on the World Wide Web. In its original form, site users selected a "city" in which to place their Web pages. The "cities" were metonymously named after real cities or regions according to their content?for example, computer-related sites were placed in "SiliconValley" and those dealing with entertainment were assigned to "Hollywood"?hence the name of the site. Shortly after its acquisition by Yahoo!, this practice was abandoned in favor of using the Yahoo! member names in the URLs.
In April 2009, approximately ten years after Yahoo! bought GeoCities, the company announced that it would shut down the United States GeoCities service on October 26, 2009. There were at least 38 million user-built pages on GeoCities before it was shut down.

ARROZ A LA VALENCIANA (Estilo Nicaraguense)

INGREDIENTES:1 libra de arroz
1 pollo
1 libra de jamon
2 onzas de mantequilla
1 cebolla grande
1 chiltoma roja
2 tomates
1 taza de salsa de tomate o suficiente para que tome color
Ajo
Salsa inglesa al gusto
Pimienta al gusto
Sal al gusto
Cerveza o vino blanco
PREPARACION:Se pone a coser el pollo con suficiente agua. Se le agrega el ajo, un poco de cebolla, chiltoma y sal al gusto. Desmenuzar el pollo cuando este cosido. No tirar el agua la necesitara. Luego se frie el arroz y se le echa el agua del pollo. Tapelo y dejelo cosinar.
En una paila aparte, fria con mantequilla el resto de cebolla y chiltoma. Cuando se esten dorando agreguele el pollo desmenuzado y los tomates en trozos pequeños. Sofrialos por un rato y agregue el jamon en trozos pequeños junto con la pimienta, la salsa inglesa y la salsa de tomate. Agregue el arroz frito y revuelva todo. Si desea puede agregar un poco de cerveza o vino blanco. Termine de cosinarlo.
NOTA: Al usar la sal, tome en cuenta que el jamon contiene sal. Algunas personas le agregan zanahoria. En este caso puede coserla en trozos pequeños junto con el arroz.
