Your Local Community Building
The Sanctuary, opened in 2000, is a community building providing a variety of services to people who live and work on Castle Vale. Funded by Castle Vale Community Housing Action Trust, Birmingham Health Authority and Allied Dunbar, the Sanctuary was developed as a voluntary building where organisations are based, and activities provided to deliver a service to the community. The building is managed by Castle Vale Community Housing Association (CVCHA), a resident led community based housing organisation run for the benefit of the whole community of Castle Vale.
The Sanctuary has provided a valuable resource to residents and organisations living and working on the estate. A variety of activities and one-off events are also held here, that reflect local needs and interests. CVCHA are working in partnership with Castle Vale Care Partnership to develop the Sanctuary to provide more facilities and activities for residents.
