STATUTORY RULES OF NORTHERN IRELAND

 Coming into Force8th August 2002 

The Department of the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred by section 51(1) of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972[1] and now vested in it[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, having received an application from the Lisburn Borough Council to change the name of the district of the council from Lisburn Borough to Lisburn City hereby makes the following Order: - 

Citation and commencement
    1.This Order may be cited as the Change of District Name (Lisburn Borough) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 8th August 2002.

2.The name of the district of Lisburn Borough shall be changed to Lisburn City.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)


This Order changes the name of the local government district of Lisburn Borough established under Article 2(1) of, and Schedule 1 to, the Local Government (Boundaries) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992 to Lisburn City from 8th August 2002.
