SYMPTOMS
When you start Windows 98 by using the "/d:n" switch, for example, bytyping "win /d:n" (without quotation marks), Windows 98 may appear tostart in safe mode with network support, but you may not have networksupport or connectivity. Note that you may experience this behavior eventhough this switch worked correctly in Microsoft Windows 95.

CAUSE
This problem can occur because Windows 98 does not support the "/d:n"switch, and does not support starting in safe mode with network support.

RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, do not try to start Windows 98 in safe modewith network support by using the "/d:n" switch.
