Discovered 1992 Mar. 2 at theEuropean Southern Observatory in thecourse of theUppsala-ESO Survey of Asteroids and Comets.

Lake Siljan, located in the beautiful Swedish province Dalarna, isthe largest impact crater in the country, measuring 50 km across. It wasformed some 360 million years ago. Unsuccessful attempts were made to drillfor oil and gas there.
