Description

Sumire, the protagonist, spends her days lamenting on social media.
"I need a friend" "I wish I were dead"
Lured in by a fake account, when Sumire goes to meet the user in real life,
waiting for her instead are several men, who try to abduct her to a hotel!
It's in the midst of that chaos that she meets a girl.

She's momentarily taken aback by this new girl's appearance, but the girl leaves before she can get a better look, or plead for help.
Wounded by the traumatic experience, Sumire races home, where she later talks to her online friend "Doc" about what happened.

With Doc's support, she decides to go to her college classes,
which is where she runs into the very girl who left her stranded in her time of need--Nazuna.

Despite feeling out of her depth in this new relationship with a very "normal" girl, Sumire tries to get closer to her.

It's a heartfelt story about a clumsy otaku girl and a very nice girl.

<report>To my surprise, I can't say that I hated it or something. Yes, it's definitely a rough game without even taking its writing into account. Engine is shitty and there were a few small bugs here and there. But anyway.

I feel like the writer is actually capable of writing something good. Friendly conversations between the main characters are pleasant to read and they can create the right mood for each type of scene. Problem lies with the story's pacing and how it connects those different types of scenes.

You see, the game reminds me a bit ofManakashi which also started as a more or less cute story but went deeper into the toxic relationship later on. And Sutekano has a hard time making a... Read more »

<report>“The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart.”
----

I recently finished Refind Self- one of the shortest and most gripping Lesbian love stories I've had the pleasure of reading. Going from that to this is tonal whiplash to say the least; this game is like if Ame-chan from Needy Streamer Overload was a lesbian and had even less inhibitions and about the same level of mental disturbance.

Slandering this game for puritan reasons is dumb especially considering the plethora of flaws it has; it tackles sensitive topics with the delicacy of a sledgehammer and yet I think to those who aren't put off by the warnings makes it oddly compelling as... Read more »

<report>SuteKano is such a mixed bag that it's frustrating.

On one hand, I really enjoyed the premise of the novel and it's characters. A super antisocial girl meets a super outgoing normal girl, and an unhealthy, unbalanced relation blooms between the two.

But in practice, this SuteKano doesn't deliver. There are many time skips that skip the more interesting relationshop developments between the two, and we just have to accept that Sumire is completely yandere now.

Furthermore, there are a lot of hints to a bigger plot behind the scenes of what we see, but it is never followed up on. Most of the endings are disappointing.

Honestly a huge disappointment. Not exactly bad, but doesn't deliver in any satisfactory form.

<report>This is a frustrating visual novel to read. Not because of only having bad endings, or even the subject matter. It's frustrating because it feels like its entire point was to be shocking and edgy, but it doesn't do that very well. It also doesn't adequately explore the mental health issues of the main character. The author also seems to not have a good understanding of those issues during their writing. It might be so frustrating because yet again in a visual novel the premise is perfectly fine, even promising, but the follow through with the story is so subpar. It reads like it was written by someone who consumed other subpar media about mental health issues and tried to emulate it.

Frankly I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

<report>Wanted to like it but ultimately it failed all of my expectations. The game goes down a darker road after some hearty scenes at the beginning, but after all the endings I've played, none feel like a complete story, there's always something that is left unfinished and unexplained. I don't mind if it is all damnation and despair, but at least make a complete game. It feels like midway through making the devs ran out of money to pay the staff so they called the project off and putted the half made game that Sutekano is up for sale.

<report>It's very difficult to summarize my experience with Sutekano. Perhaps I should start at the beginning.

I was on JAST one day, filtering for VNs with Japanese text included. Sutekano caught my eye. It was on sale, it had yuri, and it seemed a little dark and edgy. But hey, it's not like every route will be dark, right? I thought naively.A little edginess is right up my alley anyway.

I glanced at the English description of the game, mesmerized by how...otherworldly it was. This was no concern of mine, however, as I intended to read it in Japanese.Whatever, I thought;it seems interesting enough based on the screenshots. So I bought it.

9 hours of gameplay later, I find myself still... Read more »

<report>It's okay, I honestly thought this would be more of an eroge but it's more of a psychological VN with h scenes. Still, I'll take what I can get for yuri bdsm eroge. If you're going into this thinking it's just going to be a yandere love story, it's not. It can get pretty disturbing at times but overall kept me entertained, very short and I completed most of the endings within 3-4 hours. The art style is my favorite part of this VN and really is reminiscent of the jirai-onna style that's been popping up lately. Engine is also pretty bad, lots of glitches throughout my reading of it.

<report>This game managed to grip me like no other i recently played and honestly i dont know why. I found the pacing incredibly well done in the first half of the game, sadly due to the game being only 10$ it really had to cut some corners. The story is intriguing and deserves a way longer script i mean there are so many topics being touched on but being barly elaborated on and it is kinda frustrating.
Art is gorgeous and i loved both characters and their flaws.
The BGM is also incredibly enjoyable.
I personally think shorter games should stick to being a kinetic novel because with those short side endings it just feels like your farming out the content after the main story and it doesnt leave as... Read more »

<report>dropped. the VN is basically asking for too much suspension of disbelief.

we're introduced with the main character Sumire being having self-esteem problems for some reason but if her art is anything to go by, it's not like she's ugly or anything. she was even stalked by some guys, and whatever trauma that induced, she is now misandrist as a result and thus she's lesbo now.

so I went through other comments and they are basically saying this was a wasted potential. instead of tackling on psychological problems or something similar, this turned out to be a yuri nukige VN. I'm not gonna read any further, just trust said comments and drop it.
