Description

I have a role model that I idolize...
A boyfriend that I love...
And many wonderful friends who will always be there for me.
All it took was a bit of courage and hard work, and I found what I’d always yearned for. Now it’s finally time for our Happily Ever After!

...Or so I thought.

I’m still struggling to pass my classes at school.
I was utterly humiliated in a cooking contest by Rika and Arika.
And worst of all, Misaki-senpai and Asuka-senpai are trying to challenge my position as Masaya-senpai’s girlfriend!

At this rate, I’ll lose my boyfriend, flunk my classes, and Mashiro Udon will go under!

One day, as I was stressing about everything, my mom suggested that Masaya-senpai and I go on an overnight trip together.

“I’ll whip us up a delicious lunch!”

"And I’ll impress him with a cute outfit, too!”

Because I went and blabbed to Masaya-senpai, I’m now stuck spending all of my free time doing some intense training to improve my skills in certain areas that I’m sorely lacking! Will things really work out?

This is the story of a girl and her Senpai, their hectic romance, and all the friends that help them out along the way.

<report>This would be the first time I've tried dabbling in fan disks, but damn if Ao no Kanata no Four Rythm - EXTRA1 does set the bar for subsequent fan disks to be very, very high.

In one sentence, Aokana EXTRA1 is a VN that shows off insane production values to showcase the insane moe levels emitted by a certain Arisaka Mashiro.

They had produced something truly special with the track played on the menu screen, at least for the first half of the track. Perhaps the tone for the first half of the track was not very fitting thematically and emotionally, but it is a pleasure to listen every time EXTRA1 is launched.

Aokana as a moege is one of the rare moeges out there that does not heavily rely... Read more »

<report>This extra story was pure joy. If you like Mashiro then you will be well pleased. Lots of humor. Tons of beautiful CG's. Lots of fluffy romance. I found this overall more enjoyable than the base game, which I enjoyed very much.

<report>The high amount of CGs of the cute Mashiro per volume of this fandisk, neatly upscaled to glorious 1440p, does little to make up for the VN being written by a guy who didn't write the original Aokana. It really shows. Even putting aside the absence of any real plot, the writing in this fandisk has a lot of red flags that weren't present in the original.
Specifically, from what I recall:
- The notion that ""skinship"" between girls is now okayand Masaya gets aroused by the sight of what he assumes to be Mashiro about to kiss Rika. Probably wouldn't feel jealous if he saw them fucking each other either.
- In his internal narration, Masaya expresses hopes for Mashiro's chest to grow bigger... Read more »

<report>EXTRA 1 is the first fandisc for Aokana which is the after story for Mashiro Arisaka. This fandisc is focused entirely on the MC and Mashiro's relationship, so it diverts from Aokana's focus on Flying Circus (FC) - although Mashiro's route there had less focus there than others. There is some comedy present, but the majority of the fandisc is in sweet moments between the various characters with quite a few callbacks to the original Aokana story as well as earlier parts of the fandisc itself. If you liked Mashiro as a character and liked her route throughout the original Aokana, then you should pick up EXTRA 1 as you will surely like this fandisc.

<report>Top-notch quality CGs as always, superb background, plus some additional soundtracks. The only drawback was the short play-time, other than that the story did a somewhat amazing job considering it's an afterstory.

Easy 9/10 just for the sheer quality the game brings, 10/10 if you are a Mashiro fan like me.

<report>A very sweet extra for Mashiro, shit tons of fluffy cuteness. Pretty much everything in Mashiro route but dial up the romance wholesomeness to 11.
There pretty much zero FC related stuff though just slice of life
IF you love Mashiro, you will love this.

<report>I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if you're not literally coming from main AOKANA.
Therefore, for an expansion of a single route in a VN I will say it's worth to buy this, and even if you didn't like the character who is getting all the attention here I'd say that this VN for all its worth, is not a buy you'll regret (that is if you don't have the price inflated).
As an expansion or an ''Extra'' the new OST it's rather fenomenal.
I can't get over how good 皆がいるか (Mina ga Iru Kara) sounds, it's really good, definitely the best OST in all AOKANA IMO.

<report>Mashiro, the best heroine (to me) in the game got herself a fandisc due to her being 2nd in a popularity contest. The game is the continuation of Mashiro's route which uses the same assets so there is not really much difference between the original and this one, except for more amazing CGs. If you really loved Mashiro and her romance and you want more floof and wholesome content, you absolutely SHOULD read this fandisc because it absolutely delivers on those aspects! The bad thing I could say about this fandisc that unfortunately FC is almost non-existent in this game due to the romance taking full front here. Another thing I could say that is it takes a bit too long time to get to the very... Read more »

<report>In summary, a deluxe extension to Mashiro’s route.

Retains the same feel as her route from the VN though it lacks the exciting FC focus that made up the backbone of the original. This is made up by the comedy being a bit more on point, the diabetes inducing sweetness (and that’s not a phrase I use lightly) that Mashiro displays here and the ridiculously high production values; probably can’t go a few minutes without stumbling across a CG here. It’s a fairly light-hearted underconfidence story but the fact that it’s fundamentally Mashiro’s story with her taking up most of the viewpoint and interacting with the rest of the cast (and therefore less time spent with the mediocre bland protagonist) made it decently entertaining.

<report>This truly is a fandisk among fandisks, one that just absolutely oozes with a remarkable amount of quality and integrity, rather than feeling like a halfhearted and cynical cashgrab. Put simply, the level of production and craft that went into this fandisk absolutely puts most dedicated, full-budget main games to shame. The hilarious cold opening already uses more than a half-dozen fully drawn CGs just to sell the gag it goes for, and it doesn't let up on the quality brakes for the rest of the game either. It might not be an exaggeration to suggest that this game has the highest density of unique CGs per unit of text out of anything that I've ever played - the artists really did go... Read more »

<report>I would recommend Aokana – Extra1 if you completed Aokana, liked Mashiro, and enjoy the type of comedy. It's a fluffy afterstory mostly focusing on slice of life scenes, without much talk of Flying Circus or plot. One to enjoy for what it is.

<report>It's a fandisc for Aokana that serves as a continuation for Mashiro's route.

In my review of Aokana, I mentioned that sometimes the romance scenes were overly long and tangential, distracting from the good parts - its realistic portrayal of the mental and emotional aspects of competition. Mashiro's route was definitely one of the bigger offenders, but not to the point where I felt like there was no merit to reading her route. Here, though, that issue is cranked up to eleven - no, twelve. This is pure, saccharine romance with none of the substance that made the original unique and memorable.

I suppose, if you were into Aokana for the romance (And why? There's hardly any there!), you'll enjoy this. For people looking for an experience akin to the original, avoid this like the plague.
